I'm baaaack! After four gruelling years of blood, sweat and tears (or, more appropriately; journal articles, YouTube cat videos, and countless all-nighters), I have finally finished my undergraduate degree in Sociology and Anthropology. The past month has been a heady mix of exams, deadlines and copious amounts of Red Bull, so unfortunately, opportunities to blog have been few and far between. Additionally, to further aid my blogging delay, I ; 1. Spilt contact lens solution over my laptop keyboard, effectively rendering said keyboard useless 2. Bought a replacement USB keyboard (yes, I have to plug a keyboard into my laptop. Take a  minute to picture how ludicrous this looks.) Broke it. 3. Bought a replacement keyboard on eBay. Turned out it was in Hebrew. Always read the eBay item description folks!   Truth be told, despite being overjoyed at my new-found liberation from 17 years in education, the daunting prospect of entering the 'real-world' has me quaking in my leopard print Vans. I had hoped I would have some sort of inkling of what I would want to do with my life by now. Nup. Nada. Zilch. I officially graduate in approximately one month. Until then, I aim to have the best summer ever, before entering 'the real world'. We're talking water fights, day trips to the beach, twister ice lollies and barbecues laden with burgers and hot dogs ( not from Tesco). This outfit is from a rare sunny day in Scotland.

Look what the cat dragged in.

Jings Crivens, I have been ridiculously M.I.A lately! I have been trapped in the midst of dissertation hell, which was finally submitted this past Friday, so regularly scheduled blogging shall resume shortly. This is a quick post to get me back into the swing of things, showing my post dissertation 'treat yourself' binge shopping spree. My bad. The skirt was handmade by my mum: the benefits of having a home-economics teacher, skilled in dressmaking, as a parent. We've purchased more fabric to make home-made skater skirt, the second coming. Stay tuned!

Sorry I've been so M.I.A lately.  I'm trying to work on a schedule that enables me to blog/ work/ not fail at life/ uni. Please bare with me! If you have any suggestions for future blog-posts ( Lookbooks? Red carpet reviews?), I'm all ears. These are some outfits I've worn recently. The first was to see Welsh band, The Joy Formidable, play at the Oran Mor in Glasgow last Tuesday. My boyfriend and I were both adamant that the gig was on Thursday, the 28th of February at 8.30pm. Nope. Dang. 6 and 8 are apparently strikingly similar. After a quick Google search and Twitter sleuthing session at circa 1900 hours, several moments of sheer panic, a speedy car journey and  the most disgusting chips and curry sauce combo I have ever had the displeasure to consume, we made it to the venue with 5 minutes to spare. Mission accomplished.

Sorry these outfits are so New-Look oriented. I've been working like cray-cray lately, so uniform outfits are inevitable.

Just a quick post today featuring some new work purchases. Someone needs to shred my staff discount card, pronto.  I've been bogged down with studying, uni work and 'work' work for the last week, so decided to give myself a well-earned (I use that term loosely) break today and  make a home-made Valentine's day card. Last year I tried my hand at this Alligator -cum-jelly-bean receptacle. Or an Eilidh-gator, if you will . Ho ho ho. This year I opted for a card themed on The Office. My boyfriend and I are massive fans, spending many a Saturday night watching back-to-back episodes. I will report back on his reaction. Hope you've all had a super Pancake day!

Proscrastination Picks!

 photo 6768ae37-1789-4154-a650-3b65bcd47fe3_zps4de49cb5.jpg

I have once again succumbed to browsing the internet  for hours on end instead of doing much needed dissertation work. Le sigh. Clothes can be construed as somewhat sociological in nature, so my studying endeavours have not been 100% fruitless, yes?! Here are some picks I have found and would snap up in a heartbeat if money was no object. Unfortunately, I am a poor student and prefer spending my money on vices such as a daily Greggs sausage roll.

1. I have wanted these leggings (treggings?) forever, yet they're out of stock in all of the Topshop stores local to me. I should have purchased them online when they were initially in stock, but I'd prefer to try them on to determine if they are too 'Bay City Rollers'.
2. This jacket looks like the perfect winter coat and looks oh-so off duty Kate Moss.
3. I seriously considered buying this as a Christmas gift for my mum, for the sole reason that I could borrow it, before I realised that would make me a terrible, terrible human being.
4. I am on the hunt for the perfect pair of chunky, buckled boots to wear in summer with floaty, whimsical dresses. These Jeffrey Campbell Coltranes would  be ideal, however the cut-out detail would not be particularly conducive to Scottish weather. They are so incredibly beautiful though ♥

I've seen these posts floating about the blogosphere recently.

15 Facts about me

1. School of Rock is one of my favourite films. I have memorised several lines, dances and Lawrence's handshake, much to my friends and family's despair.
2. I was in a Bank of Scotland advert when I was in Primary 5. Unfortunately, I've yet to find video evidence. This is probably a positive thing.
3. I have a pet dog called Ringo. Not after the iconic Beatles drummer; he had a 'ring' of brown around his all-white belly when he was a puppy.
4. I'm bad at thinking of  appropriate pet names.
5.  I am a fraternal twin. And no, we don't look alike (duh!).
6. My dad won backstage tickets to Radio 1's One Big Sunday concert in Falkirk in 2002. I was most excited about meeting Sara Cox's dog, Snoop.
7. I also played Frisbee with Toploader (Remember this?!) at the same event  and accidentally lost said Frisbee over a security fence. Cool kid.
8. I pride myself on  my ability to always intentionally ruin a photograph with a 'pedo face'.
9. If and when Fall Out Boy reunite, I will most likely keel over and die/ wet myself with excitement.
10. I want a kitten more than anything else in the world. Preferably the Ragdoll kind, but I'm not fussy.
11. Browsing American restaurant/ fast food menus and lusting after the dishes  is one of my favourite past times.
12. I'm addicted to YouTube videos. My favourite content creators at present are Shaytards,CTFxC , BF VS GF, Sunbeamsjess and Sprinkle of Glitter . I do however find myself watching the strangest videos in the wee hours of the morning. Tight rope walking dog anyone?
13. I could probably live off of a combination of cheese and tomato pizza and chicken balls and fried rice for my lifetime and be very content ( and fat).
14. The dry, scratchy surface of Tupperware boxes sends a shiver down my spine. I have to fashion a glove like contraption, by means of pulling my sleeves down, when I'm forced to handle one.
15. I love rubbish American television (usually anything broadcast on the TLC network). Extreme Couponing is a personal favourite.

EDIT: I wrote this post last night, and Fall Out Boy have since announced a new album/ tour. Deid

Last night I went to see Florida band We The Kings play at the Glasgow Garage. For the YouTube uninitiated, internet vlogger veteran, Charles Trippy plays bass in the band. I've been watching Charles' daily CTFxC videos for around 2 years now ( realising how sad that makes me seem as I type. Oops.), so I was super excited. We The Kings were also one of the bands I loved during my teeny-bopper (cough* obligatory emo stage*cough) years . As a matter of fact, on my first trip to the USA 5 years ago, I distinctly remember saving my holiday cash to purchase their 2007 self-titled album. Ah, nostalgia.
The vest/jumper combination is a Glasgow West-end charity-shop find (thanks Mama). The woolen material was excellent for keeping me cosy as  I trekked to the venue, but not overly so. Gig problemz. The blouse is a Sale find. I love the lace, accordion pleat detail on the back. I  also christened  my new Vans Sk8 his this evening, as squeaky clean sneaks give me the creeps (Is this weird?!).

I turned 21 yesterday and had an incredible day with amazing people :) Can't believe how lucky I am. Also can't believe I'm 21 years of age, when I still feel approximately 12. I think I ate my weight in food and  was perilously close to keeling over from a TGI's, birthday cake and sweets induced food coma. Predicting I'll be circa 20 stone by my 22nd.
This shirt is a recent purchase from Primark. The picture doesn't do any justice to the shoulder and collar detail; cut out and embroidered hearts. SO CUTE! The name necklace was a birthday present  from my parents, bought from a mall in Orlando, Florida whilst they holidayed there in Summer 2012. Sneaky, sneaky mum and dad.

Bambi on Ice and Makeup First Impressions

The title is sadly a blatant lie. There has been not a single drop (flake?) of snow in Glasgow today :-( Still hoping and praying for a snow/sledging/ snow-man building day tomorrow. You'd never guess that, I was nearing 21, right? The same could be said for my OOTD post today. This Bambi jumper and bobble hat combo really enhances my inner 'looking like a toddler' but I couldn't resist.

makeup5 edit

Last week, laden with the cold and an ouchy belly (damn you Mother Nature!), I stumbled into Superdrug and made some spontaneous, on a whim purchases to cheer me up. I don't profess to be an expert in anything make-up related, yet hopefully some first impression insights from a novice like myself will  be useful to someone on the interwebz.

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer- I'm prone to Uncle Fester style  dark circles and have recently been using Youtube Guru community staple 'Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer' to combat this. Unfortunately, this has a tendency to look extremely cakey and crepey on me, particularly in the colder weather when my skin is in desperate need of moisture. This concealer is much lighter in consistency and does an excellent job of brightening  the under eye area, whilst not feeling heavy. It doesn't have the greatest longevity, and after a few hours of wear, the purple tones are creeping back. Still on the hunt for my holy grail concealer if anyone has recommendations.

Collection 2000 Lock N Hold Lipgloss in Break Dance - How gorgeous is this bright coral colour?! Pleasantly surprised by this purchase. Doesn't feel sticky or tacky on the lips, smells like Lovehearts sweeties and has a decent amount of pigmentation, providing a pop of colour without looking overly garish.

MUA Kiss Proof Lip Stain in Fabulicious - I have a big love for lipstains ( I'm talking about you Benetint!) as they require little maintenance and touch ups throughout the day a la lipsticks. This product  however, sucked. The felt pen nib applicator applies little product, the marker tip dries up fairly quickly, my lips feel dehydrated and in need of nourishment after use and the colour is too similar to my natural lip shade. Disappointed.

Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation - I usually research my foundations in advance before I buy them, due to a history of sensitive, acne prone skin. Regardless, this has so far (touch wood) done the job, and has been a decent product for throwing on quickly under powder before running out the house.

Some recent outfits wearing some recent January sales purchases (disco pant copies and black crochet dress - a bargain at £18 and £10 respectively). Severely underestimated how tight disco pants are. Attempted eating a large plate of IKEA Swedish meatballs for dinner . A grave mistake. Now wallowing in self pity, envisaging my soon to be corset trained waist, disco pants style . Look how beautiful they are though :-D

Have you found any good sales bargains?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Coat- Topshop
Jumper - Topshop
Leggings - Primark
Boots- Dr Martens
Happy New Year folks! I have spent today first-footing relatives, laden with copious amounts of shortbread (Is this just a Scottish thing?) This is what I wore for the occassion. The jumper is a sales purchase from Topshop. A dead ringer for the much-coveted Wildfox Prairie Rose jumper, if I do say so myself. Now watching 'Up' ( fully prepared to cry my heart out. SQUIRREL) and preparing to bathe the dog, who decided to welcome 2013 by rolling in dog crap. Thanks Ringo!
